How To Recover From Depression

You may be going through a phase where you feel a lack of interest in life. You don't want to do anything. You feel unhappy. You feel hopeless. You have low self-esteem. You find no pleasure in things you usually enjoy. You've lost desire and enthusiasm. You see no purpose in living. You feel defeated. You feel like you can't succeed. And once you enter this state of inactivity, it's easy to go down. Because you're bored. You lack interest in your current activity. You feel distress and annoyance resulting from an inability to change or achieve something. You don't want to talk to anyone anymore. You would rather be by yourself. Because you feel anxious whenever you are around people. You feel like you can't win. You feel like there's nothing you can do to resolve the problem. Which is something that I have experienced myself in the past.

There was a time when I wasn't talking to anyone. I didn't have any relationships. I didn't have any friends. I didn't have any money. I couldn't do anything. I no longer felt positive about life. I had no purpose. I had no direction. I had nothing to do. But at some point, I realised that it is better to do something, than to do nothing at all. Because that is the only way that you can cure depression. Otherwise you will just be feeding it and then it will get even worse. Forget about anything that has happened in the past. Let it go and live in the moment. Start exercising five days a week. Set goals and then reward yourself when you achieve them. So that it builds your confidence. Stay active. Stay socially connected. Spend time with people who support and encourage you. Avoid trying to be perfect. Just be your authentic self. You can't just stay at home all day and expect things to change. No one is going to come to rescue to you. And you shouldn't depend on other people anyway. You need to be able to depend on yourself. Because that's how you're going to achieve the life that you want. That's how I've managed to post new videos almost everyday for the past 3 and a half years. Because I motivated myself. I realised that the only way I was going to achieve anything is if kept moving in life. But that doesn't mean that everything has to change overnight. Take small steps. Start waking up a little bit earlier. Get off social media. And start interacting with people in real life again. You have to keep venturing. Gain new experiences. Meet new people. Go on a road trip. Have a vacation. Give yourself a break.

You need to have something to do. You need to have something that you're passionate about. You need to have someone to love. And you need to have something to look forward to. You need to have something that gets you excited about life. Even if you don't have any friends or anyone that you love right now. You can get a pet. You can get a cat or a dog. But you need to have something in the future that you can look forward to. You should be constantly planning fun things to do in the future. Whether it's a vacation or some other type of incentive for you to keep moving. Because that is what will prevent you from sinking in life. If you don't keep moving and you don't keep pushing yourself. Your depression will just keep getting worse. Which is why you need to motivate yourself. You need to venture out into the world. This world isn't going to be here forever. And neither are we. So let's make the most of it while we still can.
