Narcissists will often damage their own finances and even the financial position of those around them because they are not good with money. 1. They will be secretive about their finances

   • They will want to know exactly how much you're earning and how much you're keeping in your bank account, but they will never tell you how much money they have or what they're earning. They always keep it hidden from you because they are very controlling and are trying to gain power. They will spend your money or save it along with their own money behind your back while acting as though they don't have anything. They will use the money they've saved to manipulate and control other people.

2. They will spend all of your money

   They will spend your money on designer items, walking around flaunting their new brands or shoes as though they earned it, while you're left struggling to pay the bills or take care of the children. They will lie about what they're spending the money on or get you to focus on your spending, even though you may be the one who earned it. They are impulsive and reckless with money, especially when it starts to reveal itself when you don't have any money left to pay the bills. They have a strong sense of entitlement, believing they are inherently deserving of privileges and special treatment. In their minds, nothing should stop them from getting what they want, even if you have to go into debt or struggle financially.
   

3. They are competitive with money

Narcissists constantly compare themselves to other people, always looking at what others have and trying to be better than them. This competition doesn't make sense because they do it at your expense. Even if there was a competition, they wouldn't be in the game because they didn't earn it or put in the work. Narcissists don't see it that way; they think that if they've got it, then it's theirs. They don't think about the deception or the lies they told to get it. All that matters to them is whether they have it or not. This is why many of them are scammers and con artists. They are very lazy and don't want to work or get a job. They prefer to control things that belong to someone else, living a life at your expense, which ultimately destroys you financially.

4. They have different priorities

   Narcissists will skip essential things that you need, the things that are absolutely necessary, but then they will go and spend money on superficial things. They use these things to support their false image and show the world how great they are. In reality, they are just using your money to create a false display. They might cut back on essential things, driving a luxury car while your car is falling apart because fixing your car doesn't do anything for their image.

5. They are hypocrites

   Narcissists believe that the rules do not apply to them, but they will enforce the rules on you. They will spend your money on themselves but then criticize you for spending your own money, which you have worked for.
