Narcissists have a lot of pride and arrogance. They reveal an exaggerated sense of their own abilities and importance. They follow themselves and are highly opinionated, often coming across as condescending, hubristic, overbearing, and patronizing. They may treat you in a way that seems kind or helpful, but it betrays a feeling of superiority, as though they're better than you. This is why they typically like to be in positions of power and influence—they like to dominate and lead.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be the commander or the one in charge, as long as you have a vision and a path to realizing it. Being a leader means taking risks and not following the status quo. However, narcissists lack vision and direction because they don't use logic or reason. They direct you based on their ever-changing feelings, leading to frequent contradictions.

Narcissists' actions often seem purposeless because they haven't thought things through. Their vanity and excessive pride are based on empty achievements. This lack of clear intention and purpose means their efforts never amount to anything substantial. Their illusions crumble easily when faced with reality, causing them to experience shame and narcissistic injury. To avoid this, they project their shame onto others, which ironically gives others power over them.

Their lack of accountability makes them a liability, preventing them from achieving real success. They go against the grain, believing it gives them power, but it actually puts them at a disadvantage. Their overconfidence is not based on real accomplishments, leading to a cycle of failure. They try to destroy others' self-respect to create an illusion of superiority, but their pride and arrogance are not based on real success.

Narcissists' sense of entitlement and lack of genuine relationships prevent them from achieving true happiness. They expect special treatment without offering anything in return. Their arrogance and sense of superiority are not grounded in reality, leading to a life of discontentment and loneliness. They may find temporary satisfaction in bringing others down, but this does not lead to long-term fulfillment.

In the end, narcissists destroy themselves with their false sense of pride and entitlement. They live a hollow existence, lacking substance and genuine accomplishments. Their inability to appreciate or find happiness in their achievements leads to a miserable life. True happiness and success come from being authentic, genuine, and adding value to the world.
