I spent 22 years with what I didn't know to be a covert narcissist. The manipulation was so subtle over this period that I never saw it. I always knew something wasn't quite right but always buried it. Out of the blue she began to devalue our marriage and my character. She became so psychologically abusive, disrespectful and resentful towards me that I left her in May 2020. It was then that I began to research her behaviour on how after 22 years she could just let me go like 22 years didn't mean anything. It was then that I discovered the term discard and then NPD. I have been on a voyage of discovery about narcissism ever since trying to piece together the lie that my life had become.
